The Hero ISL Children’s League is run by Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), the entity which runs India’s premier football league, the Hero Indian Super League (ISL).
The first edition of the Hero ISL Children’s League began in November 2019 and will finish in March 2020.
The Hero ISL Children’s League caters to four age-group categories – Under-6, Under-8, Under-10 and Under-12.

The primary focus of Hero ISL Children’s League is to provide quality playing time to each footballer participating in the league. For the first season our benchmark is to provide minimum of 20 matches per team. Every child that participates in the Hero ISL Children’s League is also given kit (jersey, short, stocking) and a sipper.
The Hero ISL Children’s League is currently being run in West Bengal, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. However, our drive to bring grassroots football to the entire country, could see the Hero ISL Children’s League in your state in the coming year.
The Hero ISL Children’s League is being held in Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas and Nadia in West Bengal, Shillong and Laitkseh in Meghalaya and Itanagar and Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh.
FSDL’s plan is to expand the Hero ISL Children’s League to 12 states with an aim to engage over 40,000 children within the first 3 years.
The registrations for the Hero ISL Children’s League are currently closed for the first edition. We will keep you updated for the second edition.
We would like every child to be a part of the league however, he/she can participate in the Hero ISL Children’s League through a school/club/academy or can form a team with his/her friends (squad of 40 in 4 age categories).
Every participating footballer in the league should provide the following documents:
• Age Proof: Birth certificate/Aadhar Card/Pan Card/Passport
• Institution Affiliation Proof: School ID Card/Academy ID Card/Club ID Card/Registration number (With State FA)
• 1 Passport size photograph
Hero ISL Children’s League is free for all and encourages participation.
The Hero ISL Children’s League caters to children aged 5 to 12. Any form of age fraud is strictly prohibited in the Hero ISL Children’s League. If any footballer is found guilty of indulging in such activities, he/she will be barred from participating in the competition.
The Hero ISL Children’s League encourages participation regardless of gender and background across all four age-group categories. The Shillong and Laitkseh edition of the Hero ISL Children’s League in Meghalaya are exclusively for girls.
A child can only be replaced if he/she has sustained an injury.
Every coach will receive a nominal daily allowance per match, provided the coach is present at the venue during the match.
Unfortunately no, parents, coaches and teams have to make their own travel arrangements to participate in Hero ISL Children’s League.
Yes, every participating team in the Hero ISL Children’s League will get snacks on their match days.
